How Do We Clean Your Brick And Stone Surfaces?
For the vast majority of jobs, Vinci Response uses either DOFF or TORIK Cleaning Systems.
The steam-based tools provide the option of chemical-free cleaning with optimal results.
Superheated water is pumped through the system and released through a ceramic nozzle. It is non-abrasive and non-toxic, so it won’t cause any further damage to properties.
As well as stonework, the DOFF or TORIK cleaning systems can be used on brick, marble and concrete (including walls and pavements).
Visit our Brick Cleaning Services or Stone Cleaning Services pages for more information.
Rope Access Cleaning
We also provide Rope Access Cleaning which can help with hard-to-reach areas.
This enables us to carry out professional high-level cleaning for a large number of services, including brick and stone cleaning, window cleaning after builders cleans and mastic repairs.
Rope Access Cleaning has a number of great benefits, including:
- A high standard of cleaning is achieved
- A more consistent level of cleaning is achieved across the entire building. Difficult to reach areas can be cleaned easily
- High level cleaning can be achieved without the use of scaffolding
- More cost effective than scaffolding
- Much less obtrusive than scaffolding
- Fewer person hours are required as the equipment is quick to install and uninstall
- We can spot any defects, report them to the building management and arrange a repair before the situation worsens
Frequently Asked Questions About Brick and Stone Cleaning
Why is it important to maintain stone or brickwork?
Brick and stone cleaning has some obvious aesthetic benefits. Once our technicians have finished, you will notice a visible difference in the building’s appearance. And this can have a very positive impact on customers’ and staff’s first impressions. But our brick and stone cleaning services can also help identify underlying issues like missing pointing or cracks. We can also remove damaging deposits such as lichen or algae.
Are you fully insured to carry out the work?
Yes, Vinci Response Services is fully insured to carry out a range of brick and stone cleaning services.
What kind of buildings do you treat?
We carry out brick and stone cleaning for both commercial and residential buildings. In addition, we also work with local authorities, parishes and heritage buildings, providing one-off or periodic brick and stone cleans.
Do you use any harsh chemicals to clean?
We always try to use chemical-free cleaning methods for the majority of our brick cleaning work. Our technicians use the DOFF or TORIK cleaning systems, which utilise superheated water to remove grime, moss, algae, fungi and many other types of soiling quickly and delicately. However, for some brick cleaning projects chemicals may be required. Any that we do use will be environmentally friendly. If alternative methods have to be used, our technicians will advise during the initial site visit.
Are there any safety risks associated with your process?
As with any restorative and cleaning works, we follow standard health and safety procedures. For example, electrical outlets will need to be sealed as our two main processes utilise water. All will be explained by a senior surveyor who will visit your building and create a risk assessment method statement (often referred to as RAMS). All of our technicians are fully compliant. They will carry out the cleaning of your building’s facade with the full required personal protection equipment (PPE), in line with the RAMS produced by the senior surveyor. And of course, if our technicians use rope access cleaning methods, they all hold IRATA and CSCS qualifications.
